As most of you I have gotten into hobbies that to "normal" people either seem weird or strange, or is something they look down on. I get a lot of weird looks, and questions about what something is by those people. Mainly because they it is something they have never heard of and its something they don't really understand. For those reasons I decided to write a little about each hobby to give those not familiar with it a better idea of it.
I will start with the common hobby, video games. As most people know its a electronic game. Most people think that its for kids and that they are turning kids violent. Both things are untrue. People of both genders of all ages play video games, and there are many different kinds of video games. If your worried about the level of violence in a game just do your research, and most games should came with a rating.
I often use comics and cartoons as a way of describing anime and manga, just because its easier to explain what some thing is when you have something that the other person knows to liken it too. One thing a lot of people don't realize is that there is more to anime and manga than super heroes and kids shows. Well ok there is super heroes and anime for kids, but a lot of the super heroes and kids shows can be rather different to what your use to. There are anime and manga covering anything and everything, and targeted at all ages and both genders.
Cosplay is one word made up of two. The cos from costume and the play from role-playing. It means to dress up as a character and acting like them, but a lot of people just use it as a term to mean dressing up as a character. You can either buy or make your costume, or a combo of both.
Lolita is a street fashion that became really popular in Japan and has since spread from there. It is based on Victorian-era fashion. It features knee length dresses and skirts, with a cupcake like shape, its very modest and very girl, and can be very cute as well. There are many different styles of lolita but they all keep to the same outline.
I would also like to point out that lolita fashion has nothing to do with the book or movie of the same name.
Here's a photo of one of my dresses to give you a bit of an idea.
Finely Ball Jointed Dolls or BJDs for short. Like the name suggests they are dolls that are ball jointed. You can do a lot with those dolls and they come in a lot of different sizes. The smaller ones can be around 20cm and they can get up to 70cm or more. You can customize those dolls, by making clothes and props, changing their eyes and wigs, swapping heads and wiping off their faces and redoing it. A lot of people also like to take photos of their dolles.

Sophine & Toffee unboxing
Recently I made a order from a shop called Sophie & Toffee, they sell cabochons, charms and dceo type things. I have wanted to make a order from them for awhile so I could make myself a new phone cover. I wanted to do something simpler to a deco phone cover I brought at a stall in Artist Alley the first year I went (2012).
It was than in a bag which included a cute thank you card.
Close up of the thank you card
I order air drying clay as it sounded easy to use and I wanted to try it out. I picked sky blue, scarlet and pink. Pictured above is the cute design on top of the clay, pictured below is the three colors I got.
I got two phone covers so I could make another one.
I order fake deco sauce in Chocolate and pastel pink, I have seen some cool effects and wanted to try them out for myself.
I got a tube of deco cream which include four piping tips which goes on the top of the tube
I only ordered five single cabochons which are 2 star confetti bows one in pink and one in blue, one glitter kawai (the glitter in kawai doesn't really show up in the photo) and two glitter hearts one in pink and one in white
I ordered a seets assortment mix grab bag and a non food assortment mix grab bag to get a mix of cabocahons as I didn't really know what ones to get
Now that I got them I'm looking forward to making my new phone cover

Supanova 2015 Plans
With AVcon over for another year I thought I would share my plans for Supanova.
At this point in time I am planning on going just for the Sunday. Some of you may have already noticed over on Facebook that I have already started a cosplay for it. The cosplay I have decided on is Dreadlord with Great Weapon who is a Warhammer model.
I have wanted to do a Warhammer cosplay after seeing some photos of some really cool Warhammer cosplays on the internet. So I went though photos of Dark Elves models as thats the army I started with when I found Dreadlord, and I feel in love with the version with the Great Weapon. I like big props and I cannot lie.
I decided to do Dreadlord for Supanova as out of the three cons in Adelaide I felt that Dreadlord would be best suited to Supanova due to it being a popular expo and its focus being more general than AVcon and I haven't made up my mind whether I'm going to Comic Con yet.

Why I loved Final Fantasy X
I love Final Fantasy. I really how they really pull you in with their games. My one of my favorite game in the series would have to be the very first one I played, Final Fantasy X.
I can't remember my very first thoughts of it, I just remember my cousin showing me it one day. What ever I was thinking, it must have been good thoughts. Before long it had pulled me in as well, and we ended up playing it together even going as far as trying to play though it start to finish in as short period of time as we could. We had Final Fantasy fever bad.
One of my favourite character was Yuna. I loved how she could summon Aeons. Looking back I think being shy helped connecting with her as a character as she wasn't exactly the most outgoing character in the game.
I also really loved the cutscenes. They were at the time really detailed and realistic. I loved it and I would rewatch some of my favourite cutsences again and again. My favourites were the opening sence and the lake sence with Tidus and Yuna.

Food Wars
Food Wars isa manga about a boy named Soma who aims to one day surpass his father's cooking skills. It follows his time spent at a elite culinary school after his father closes his restaurant.
The first thing I would like to mention about this book is the boobs. There are a lot of large chested females in tight or revealing clothing in this book. This gem was in the first couple of pages. You have been warned.
Girl being attacked by the squid she is eating? Yep that's normal.
Once you are you able to over look that little feature, it's actually not that bad.
I went into this knowing very little about it other than a guy going to a cooking school. To start with I thought it was going to be a lot funnier than what it was. There were a couple funny moments, don't get me wrong, they just weren't as funny as what I thought.
It also reminded me a bit of Ouran High School Host. Someone who isn't rich and powerful goes to school with lots of rich and powerful. The school Soma goes to is the elite of the elite of cooking and lots of kids with strong cooking family history go to it.
I'm guessing Soma isn't up with it when it comes to the best of the best as the judge he had to impress was one, and he had no idea. She gave everyone one chance to withdraw her test and they all ran off expect for Soma as they were so scared of her.
They actually included a repice for what Soma cooked.
I think it would be interesting to see how this turns out. It's certainly a bit different to what I normally read.

Unboxing of Super Dollfie Graffiti Shizu Darling - Kimono Version
Recently I brought a new Super Dollife and I thought I would share some photos of her unboxing. She is a Super Dollfie Graffiti, which means she is one of the larger dolls, and she is the Kimono Version of Shizu Darling. I have decided to call her Rose.
So she was shipped in a big boring brown box. I didn't noticed at the time, but the photo doesn't actually show how big the box was.
Inside the big boring brown box was her actual. I keep all of those box, and I really like this one. Its really cute. It also came wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap.
This is what it looks like inside when you take off the lid. On the top you can see her Kimono, feet, shoes, wig and her booklet. Hidden in the box at the end are some legs, which I didn't realized at the time.
Once I got everything out, I found her really well wrapped in bubble wrap, inside the two pillows. Talk about good packing.
I used a pillow to hide her nudity, but as you can see, she came with a face guard to protect her face, and her feet and part of her legs and her hands wrapped in bubble wrap. What you can't see due to the pillow is that her neck and arms were also wrapped in bubble wrap. I must admit, as well as my other dolls were packed, Rose would have to be the best wrapped doll I have got so far.
Close up of her face up with out the face guard.
When I got the bubble wrap off the legs, and had a closer look, I was a little confused. I noticed that there wasn't a joint at the ankle. I knew that every doll I had got so far had a joint here. I also received a pair of feet with a joint. I would also like to point out that the feet with a joint are flat, and the feet without a joint are heeled.

It was at this point, I looked a bit harder, and found those leg parts in bubble wrap hidden in the little box at the end. Now I will be able to change to jointed flat feet.
Included was the standard Super Dollfie guide book that you get with every doll, and a booklet for just the doll I got. Inside this book was a picture guide to how to put on the Kimono as pictured belowThe wig in its bag and netting
The Kimono was nicely packaged all together.
Every thing put on! She is so much prettier in person, and I can't wait to get more photos of her!
